Kate Bennett, Slim Magazine x Flaunter
Kate Bennett is the Publisher at SLIM Magazine and Gold Coast Panache Magazines. We sat down with Kate to find out a little more about what her role as a publisher, and how Flaunter fits in.
Tell us about yourself and your role as a publisher.
I started SLIM magazine over 15 years ago and Gold Coast Panache nearly 3 years ago now. I have a background in media having spent 17 years in radio, that’s 30 years (don’t know where that time went)!!!
What does your typical day look like?
My typical day varies dramatically. I go to client meetings every day, I try for at least 3 face to face meetings a day. When on print deadline (this is the most stressful part of the job) I am on call to my editor and graphic designer all the time to get the finished product done and into the market place.
How has the type of work you do changed over the past few years?
From the day I started to now it has changed a lot as social media plays a huge role. I know everyone can get instant news now so I try to stay ahead with relevant up to date information and also things that I know my target audience relates to whether it be fashion, home, socials, beauty, hair etc

What part of your job takes you the most time?
The finished product. I am a touch “anal” being a Virgo, so I need everything to be perfect!
How do you decide the content mix for your magazines?
I sit with my editor prior to starting each magazine to finalise our flat plans and make sure we are bringing our audience the latest in everything current.
How does Flaunter make your job easier? How much time would it save you each week?
I LOVE Flaunter. Flaunter has helped me put my magazines together. The content of fashion, home and beauty pages have been from Flaunter. So up to date and relevant. I can’t thank you enough!!

Flaunter has helped me learn about different products and services I knew nothing about. The range of brands Flaunter has is phenomenal.
What do you like most about Flaunter?
What is not to like! There is no other site like this in Australia. I have introduced so many Queensland businesses to Flaunter and they also speak so highly. Thank you Flaunter!
