Haven Prints - Turn your home into a sanctuary with modern Australian art that evokes calm
Sydney artist, Kristin Rubie’s unique collection of luxe boho prints are designed to evoke the sense of calm and comfort that today’s homeowners crave. And the photographs of them in situ speak for themselves.
A former senior marketing executive, Kristin made a bold career shift in late 2022, founding Haven Prints. In just under two years, she transformed her passion into a six-figure success. A modern take on Australian native flora and landscapes, as well as deities, her work now adorns the walls of hundreds of homes. Kristin’s surface pattern designs will also be sold in Pillow Talk stores later this year.
“I love to draw from nature; beautiful abstract flower shapes, birds, landscapes and figures,” Kristin says. “I incorporate pattern and textures to create unique stylised effects. My artwork is influenced by various folk art styles, the illustration styles of Art Nouveau, abstraction of Henri Matisse and modern digital illustration.”
Her inspirations are many, but a common theme is nature. Harmony, for example, celebrates the intricate details of Australian native flowers, while Cala Luna, part of her deity series, embodies a serene yet powerful feminine energy, drawing inspiration from the Mediterranean’s coastal landscapes. Finally, Night Flower captures the awe-inspiring beauty of the Australian night sky as seen from Alice Springs.
A 2024 SHE.com Awards finalist, Kristin faced a turning point five years ago, when diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis. Managing a chronic illness and a demanding corporate career, all the while raising two children with special needs, forced her to reevaluate her life. It was during this period that she reconnected with her love for art, turning to it as a form of therapy which would later become a thriving small business.
Her work blends traditional and digital media, resulting in a style that is deeply rooted in themes of resilience, renewal, and the healing power of nature. It’s feminine and organic, with bold lines and muted colours that will suit many homes.
Despite her rapid growth, what Kristin treasures most is the connection she has built with her customers. “Seeing my work in people’s homes, knowing that it helps transform their space into something that feels truly personal; that’s my greatest accomplishment,” she says.
Many of her pieces can be bought as complementary sets of two or three, making starting or adding to an art collection easy for customers, especially those looking to fill large walls. And with prices starting from $157 for paper prints and $169 for unframed canvases, her work is accessible and affordable.
Unlike mass produced options from overseas, Haven Prints are hand-crafted in Australia using the finest sustainable materials and printed locally with advanced UV techniques by Guild-recognised framers on beautiful fine art canvas.
