Earthlings United creates a sustainable range of clothing that will grow with your child.
Earthlings United are on a mission to reduce clothing waste and drive positive environmental change with their innovative range of children’s clothing. The range of comfortable and practical childrenswear has been designed to grow with children, fitting them for at least four years, extending the life of each garment and significantly reducing waste.
Australia is now the largest consumer of clothing in the world, buying 56 new items per year, surpassing the USA (53) and the UK (33)*, with children’s clothes significantly contributing to these high figures. On average, children outgrow their clothes every six to twelve months, creating unnecessary consumption and having a consequential strain on family budgets and the environment.
Clothes that grow with your kids.
The Earthlings United concept was developed by siblings Anna Babidge and Rick McKeon, who grew up in a large family in Sydney. Anna’s prior experience in both industrial and graphic design saw her work with internationally recognised brands including Sass & Bide, Alexander Wang, Dior and Aesop. Increasingly disheartened by the wastefulness of the fashion industry, Anna was determined to create a better way.
“After having my own family and seeing first-hand how quickly my children grew out of their clothes, I wanted to create a clothing range which would wear better and last longer”, commented Babidge. “When my son was young, he had a pair of cotton jersey pants that he was able to wear from age one to four. This sparked the idea: what if all kids’ clothes could be this versatile?”.
From ages 3 to 10 in just two sizes.
The Earthlings United range has been uniquely designed to accommodate children from 3 to 10 years in just two sizes, 3 – 6 years and 7 – 10 years. Cleverly accommodating growth by extended led and arm cuffs, elastic drawstring waists, and lower crotch lengths, the range has extra room in all the places kids need it.
Made from organic cotton and natural mineral dyes.
All garments are made in Portugal using 90% organic cotton and coloured with natural mineral dyes and no harmful chemicals. The clothing undergoes a special finishing process which also enhances durability and ensures that the natural dyes don’t run in the wash.
